Disposable email checker FAQ
What is a disposable email address?
A disposable email (also called temp mail, throwaway, or temporary email) is an address from a service that generates short-lived, often public inboxes on demand. People use them for privacy or one-off access; they can also be used to claim repeated free trials.
What is temp mail?
Temp mail refers to temporary email services used for short-term access. Inbox lifetime, privacy, and retention vary by provider. Using one does not by itself prove that a signup is abusive.
How do I check if an email is disposable?
Enter the domain in the free disposable email checker above, or call the TrueUser verify API. The free checker looks for the domain in our bundled blocklist snapshot. The API adds risk signals and applies your account rules. Neither proves mailbox ownership.
How do I block disposable email signups?
POST the email to the TrueUser /api/v1/verify endpoint in your signup handler. If the response flags the address as disposable, reject or hold it before granting benefits, while offering legitimate users a review path.
